Help desk Technician
ICT Support Technician Level 2
We currently have a vacancy for an all round IT Help desk Technician. The role requires someone who has a passion for engineering and is keen to learn.
Work will involve a mix of onsite work and office based work. We are looking for someone that can work on their own (as required), undertaking tasks and can think on their feet.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Thorough understanding of Microsoft Office 2013/2016 (Outlook, Word and Excel)
Clear understanding of Microsoft Windows 10 desktops Operating Systems
Strong understanding of Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012 and 2016 Operating Systems
Experience with Help desk ticketing performing level 1 troubleshooting/support
Understanding of TCP/IP v4 and networking
Able to pay attention to detail and communicate effectively with other team members
Experience with configuring of laptops and desktops
Thorough understanding of Microsoft Office 365
Remote and onsite technical support
Current Driver's Licence and Australian Citizen
OAS Network Engineers maintain and development networks created in the Minder Cloud Network Infrastructure. They provide design and configuration engineering in the Cisco MPLS IP VPN environment as well as Level 3 escalation support to ensure network security, create and configure networks, and provide technical support and troubleshoot issues.
The position is full-time, and some late nights or weekend work may be required. This position involves working in an office setting; however, some Network Engineers may travel between sites to see clients.
OAS Network Engineers work as part of the IP department for OAS that supports the OAS network and external company clients that requires IP Engineering services and support. Companies that employ the Minder network have sophisticated IP systems and typically include retailers, Hospitality, Aged Care, Manufacturing and Mining clients.

Skills and experience
Well-organised and attentive to detail, our Network Engineers work carefully to troubleshoot systems. They have a strong desire to assist others and provide great service to their clients. In addition to five or more years of relevant experience, OAS seek candidates with the following skills and qualifications:
Cisco network experience
Customer service skills
Knowledge of switches
We require our Network Engineers to have a Diploma or degree and more than 5 years of relevant work experience. OAS require Network Engineers to have extensive knowledge of Cisco network equipment, such as routers, switches and firewalls in addition to skills implementing, operating, troubleshooting, and configuring IP networks.
OAS typically prefer employees who have a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) designation. This certification shows that employees have advanced knowledge and skills to work with network architectures.
OAS is looking for three (3) dynamic, enthusiastic and responsible people to manage and take responsibility for level 2 technical assistance enquiries. We require our staff to learn our customers, understand their network and document the processes and challenges.
Some of the duties required are:
Diagnosing and resolving issues and problems with software, hardware, computer peripheral equipment, networks, databases and the Internet
Providing support in the deployment, installation and maintenance of systems.
Providing second level support for all new and existing ICT support issues escalated to Level 2
Troubleshooting and diagnosing technical issues over the phone and in person
Accurate problem resolution with thorough and clear documentation.
Maintaining all case/issue history within our ticketing system.
Resolving hardware issues with desktops, printers, scanners, etc;
Some after hours work may be required;
Installation and configuration of servers (with the support when required of our senior engineers), PC's and other IT equipment
Providing friendly advice and solutions to all users onsite
Technologies you will support (and are not limited to):
Windows 2008 / 2012 / 2016 Servers
Windows 7 / 8 / 10 Desktops
Firewall maintenance and troubleshooting;
PC hardware troubleshooting;
Skills and experience
2 years experience working on Networks, Desktops and Servers (Help desk background will also be considered beneficial);
Demonstrated experience supporting LAN and WAN infrastructures;
A basic understanding and support methods for the above technologies;
Ability to work under pressure & deal with multiple tasks.
Superior communication skills, written and verbal, must be fluent in English and possess great phone manner;

Demonstrated experience in operating within an IT support team environment and in meeting deadlines
Demonstrated successful experience in working within Windows environment.
Demonstrated experience in setting up and maintaining Windows workgroups
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft client operating systems including Windows 7 / 8 / 10
Advanced knowledge in supporting PC software applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server, Office 365 & SharePoint
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016 including user account management in Active Directory and file system security
Intermediate understanding of networking technologies and ensures security of network assets.
Practical experience in hardware/software set-up installation, support and troubleshooting.
