2020 has been a whirlwind of a year. This is true for us, as much as for any other business in Newcastle. While juggling through a pandemic, transitioning to remote work (and back), assisting most of our clients to do the same and upgrading our core infrastructure, we have missed sharing some important news with you.

Without further ado, the Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of David Lynch as Chief Executive Officer of OAS Technology.

With a background in Finance and Business Management, David started his position in February this year in what has been a hugely challenging and turbulent time. Onboarding as a new CEO in the current climate would not have been an easy task. However, David’s skills, experience and his personal management style have seen him become part of the OAS family in no time.

We sat down with David to get to know him a little better:

What has been your biggest career achievement to date?

I spent 5 ½ years at a national not for profit organisation in various board and executive roles. We supported thousands of vulnerable clients in a range of government funded programs across Disability Support, Foster Care, Aged Care, Homelessness and Refugee and Asylum Seekers. It was very rewarding knowing you could make a difference to people’s lives.

What has prompted your decision to start the position of CEO at OAS Technology?

OAS presented an opportunity to lead an established and well-respected, local business. Over the years, I have worked with OAS on the other side of the fence, as a customer. The team culture and focus on exceptional customer service attracted me. I can’t wait to take the business to the next level.

What do you think is the biggest strength of the business?

Self-sufficiency and customer centricity. We have invested in our own data centre infrastructure which gives us full control and limits who the buck stops with. We prefer to be the master of our own destiny and take full responsibility for our customers experience. We have a service first mentality that the owners have always prided themselves on which forms a core company value for us.

What goals and visions do you have for the business?

We want customers to succeed by partnering with them to support their IT needs. As the customers scale, we are flexible enough to scale with them and in fact can enable that expansion

We want to grow and nurture our staff and have launched our own Minder Academy where we are investing in employees to undertake training programs that will have them supporting customers as efficiently as they can and provide solutions and services that are world class.

How would you describe yourself in two words?

Always learning.

What motivates you to get out of bed in the morning?

Creating positive relationships that add value.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

My three kids keep my wife and I very busy. That mostly revolves around sport and their part time jobs. When given the opportunity (between sport seasons and without a pandemic) we also love to travel and experience new foods and cultures.
